Jeff Kardas had himself a Tuesday
Ten weeks in, and the top of the board is a knife fight. Orlando still leads, but Jason Maxwell is breathing down his neck and Jimmie just met Orlando face-to-face for the first time. Meanwhile, Jeff Kardas is quietly becoming a problem. Let's get into it.
Jeff Kardas had himself a Tuesday
Net 33, 7.5 match points, longest putt on Hole 9 — his third of the season. His handicap dropped from 7 to 5 and he still went 7.5–2.5. That's not a fluke, that's a guy finding his game. He's now 4th in the league with 52 points and breathing on Todd and Jason above him.
Tom Pehr had a redemption arc
Two weeks ago he got blown out 9–1 by Jason Maxwell AND lost to Orlando's ghost card on the same day. This week? Won 6.5–3.5 over Mike Keefe, snagged his first CTP of the season, and fired the low gross of the night at 39. Golf is cruel. Tom is fine.
Orlando finally faced Jimmie — and lost
We called out this matchup two weeks ago as the one that needed to happen. It happened. Jimmie won 5.5–4.5. Orlando still leads the league, but Jimmie just narrowed the gap to 1.5 points. The top 3 is Orlando (56.5), Jason (55.5), Jimmie (55.0). One good week could reshuffle the whole thing.
Jason Maxwell is on a heater
Back-to-back 7.5-point weeks (9-1 over Tom Pehr last week, 7.5–2.5 over Paul Rael this week). Net 33 and net 34 in consecutive rounds. He's moved from 3rd to 2nd and is now just 1 point behind Orlando. If there's a points-leader flip coming, this is what it looks like.
Brit Harvey and Sean Winters split 5.0–5.0
Sean's net was actually 36 to Brit's 37, but hole-by-hole play called it a draw. Sean's only played 5 rounds this season — he's quietly sitting at 27.5 points and 5.5 pts/round. When Sean shows up, he competes.
Around the league
Top 3 are separated by 1.5 points. Jeff Kardas just 4 back of Jimmie. This thing is wide open.
